GROUP LESSONS
for children aged 4 to 17 years old
Our unique approach to chess combines the art of chess with an engaging learning environment, where every student can thrive and reach their full potential. Our group training sessions foster a sense of community, allowing students to learn, compete, and grow together. Led by a team of experienced coaches, our innovative teaching techniques combine the best of traditional methods with new strategies, ensuring a holistic chess education for every student. Regardless of your playing experience, or lack thereof, we have an offering for you. Tailored to meet the needs of players at different skill levels, our group sessions are divided into three groups: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
FEES: R850.00 per month per student, with 15% discount for siblings.

Beginners Programme
Saturdays, 09:30-10:30 at Asmara Coffee Roasters, Wynberg, Sandton
The beginners’ programme is for newcomers who want to have a foundational understanding of chess, including how the pieces move, and concepts of check and checkmate. Typically for younger kids; the programme is also recommended for older kids who are new to the sport and want to cover their basis before delving into the technical aspects of the game that are targetted at strength improvement and skills development.
Intermediate Programme
Saturdays, 10:45-11:45 at Asmara Coffee Roasters, Wynberg, Sandton
Tailored for children of all ages who already have a foundational understanding of chess; our intermediate curriculum covers openings, middle games, end games, tactics, and theory, delivering a well-rounded and enriching chess education. This programme provides a nurturing environment for children to work on improving their chess skills while exploring whether their interest lies in competitive chess or a more social and casual engagement with the game.
Accelerated Programme
Fridays, 16:30-18:00 at Wits Sturrock Park
This programme is for students who have a taste for competitive chess and are eager to take their game to the next level. Whether you aspire to dominate your school’s chess ladder, earn provincial colours, participate in the South African Junior Chess Championships, or leave your mark in international tournaments; our structured approach is designed to unlock your full potential.
PRIVATE COACHING
one-on-one coaching
This option is designed for children or adults who can already play chess and desire a self-paced learning experience which aligns with their personal goals; online or in person.

Each lesson is 55 min long and our packages are as follows:

This option is designed for children who want our group coaching experience but are unavailable for the scheduled group sessions.

Private Chess Social
If you want to finally add chess to the gamesnight roster, book us for a chess social for you and your friends.
FEES: from R2000.00 per session for group of up to 20 adults.
Chess Club
Tuesdays, 16:00-18:00 at Wits, Sturrock Park
Our chess club is for you if you are already familiar with chess basics and seek more opportunities to play irl. The club meets weekly on Tuesdays. There is an option to add a weekend meet if there is sufficient interest.
FEES: R50.00 per person per month.
